Nursel Önen is a Turkish artist based in İzmir whose work spans painting, sculpture, and monumental art installations. Born in 1980, she has developed a unique artistic voice that captivates international audiences.
With eighteen solo exhibitions and numerous group shows across Europe and Turkey, Nursel has established herself in the contemporary art world. In 2014, her work was selected to represent Turkey at Contemporary Art Australia among artists from 10 countries – a significant milestone in her international career.
Through Nursel Önen Art Concept, she has created Mr. Roo as a character that embodies her philosophy: art should heal, inspire, and connect people beyond borders and language. Each Mr. Roo piece carries her signature blend of vibrant color, emotional depth, and universal appeal.
